Bellwork:
We must remember the importance of preproduction in the design process.
You will take the avatar "cartoon character" that you created the first week of class and add some more life to it by adding color! There is a set of colored pencils between every two computers. These pencils were purchased by Mrs. Hesse so please use them with care and return them to the proper box when finished.
Later on you may create your avatar in a paint program and use it in a game that you will be making from scratch:)!
Your avatars will be displayed on the bulletin board in the class!
You will continue on Gamestar Mechanic
Finish all five episodes
Receive 100% on a post it
Get a game card challenge
Get a Preproduction sheet
Brainstorm, sketch, and get those ideas down on paper before moving on to designing it on Gamestar.
Design your game on Gamestar must have three levels
When creating your levels consider making the first level being about teaching the player how the game works. The second level would add a little difficulty and the third level would be the real challenge.
Remember:
Did you include the five element of game design:
Space
Mechanics
Components
Goals
Rules
Is your game balanced?
Easy and fun to play but difficult to win!
This course is designed to give students an overview of beginning concepts of computer programming in “Basic” computer language. The process of creating a video game(pre-production, production and post production) will be employed during this course. Gaming II is a continuation of Gaming I. Students will further develop computer programing skills to create their own video games.
